"Family Action’s grants database has two key functions: to provide a grants management system for our busy Grants Administration Service and to help students to identify funding available from over 1,200 educational grant giving charities – the educational grants search.

"The educational grants search changed the service we provide beyond recognition. By moving to an on-line service we witnessed an increase of over 500% in the number of students we were able to assist in less than a year. In the region of 100,000 students looking for charitable funding to pay for a course of education or training use the educational grants search every year.

"As a grants management system the database is easy to use and helped us significantly improve efficiency in managing funds from over 70 trust funds. Excellent training was provided, tailored specifically to the needs of non-IT specialists, and we continue to benefit from an on-going support package.

"Over the coming year we intend to further develop the database with the aim of developing an on-line application system. We look forward to working with Andy on this exciting project."
